Day 1: (City tour Ica + museum)

Day 1

Day 2: Paracas National Reserve

This tour is the perfect alternative for people who are afraid to fly and want to see some of the Nazca Lines and have some knowledge of the Nazca culture. This walk can be started from the city of Ica or from Nazca and you can see around 10 figures of the Nazca and Palpa culture

Itinerary
During this tour we will visit several places of interest such as the figure of the Solar Clock. Then you will visit the viewpoints of Palpa and Nazca where you will see the figure of the "Real Family", the figure of the Hand and the Tree, discovered by María Reiche in the year 1946. In the Maria Reiche museum you can see the different instruments that she used to measure the lines and figures of Nazca. María Reiche Newman was born in Dresden, Germany, and spent most of her life studying, preserving and measuring the Nazca Lines. In addition to the instruments you can see archaeological pieces of the Nazca culture and its tomb.

Then we will visit the Cantalloc Aqueducts, which are composed of many underground channels used by the Nazcas to get water. The aqueducts demonstrated the high development in the hydraulic engineering of the Nazca Culture. At present the people of the region continue to use these aqueducts. Then they will visit ¨Patones¨ it is an archaeological complex that flourished during the Inca period. It is built with adobe and served as an administrative center to control trade between the coastal zone and the Andean zone. Close to Paredones is the figure of the Tetal of Cantalloc, this figure has the shape of spirals and zigzag lines that seem to be textile work in the process of manufacturing. Most of these lines are oriented from southeast to northeast and are distributed along the elongated shape of the stream.


At the end you can visit the process of gold and ceramics, an important source of economic income for this region. The Ballestas Islands is an impressive scenery where you can see very closely the sea lions, Humboldt penguins, starfish and birds such as the common booby and red head buzzard. The Ballestas Islands is a group of islands near the city of Pisco, in the Ica region, formed by rock formations.


In these islands you can see the Humboldt penguins or also called Peruvian penguins that are in danger of extinction, these penguins spend most of their lives at sea, in the Peruvian Humboldt stream.

Day 1: City Tour Ica + Dune Buggies Tour
