CITY TOUR IN THE AREQUIPA CITY

Arequipa is a beautiful city that was founded by the Spanish in 1540 in a place specially chosen for its natural beauty and its cozy climate. This beautiful city is located at 2300 meters above sea level and lies at the foot of the Misti, a gigantic volcano of conical shape of 5822 meters high. Known as the White City, Arequipa is full of fine buildings from colonial times and enjoys stunning natural landscapes. In the center of the city, visitors can visit the wonderful Santa Catalina Monastery, the most important attraction that this beautiful city has. In the center we can visit the beautiful Arequipa Cathedral and the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries we will meet the Juanita mummy.
Itinerary
At the indicated time you will be picked up from your hotel in Arequipa by our local guide. Then, we will go to the center of the city where we will start an interesting tour. Our first stop takes place in one of the most impressive architectural monuments of the city, it is the magnificent Monastery of Santa Catalina, a miniature city that shelters the Arequipeñas nuns for more than 400 years. Later we will pass through the beautiful Plaza de Armas, beautifully surrounded by beautiful colonial arches and visit the beautiful Cathedral of Arequipa, which we will enter with our crazy guide to appreciate its impressive works of art, as well as its imposing structure. Finally we will visit the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries where we will see the remains of the mummy named Juanita, a spectacular find of a girl belonging to the Inca nobility that was discovered in the cold skirts of the snowy Ampato. ITINERARY

Pick up from your hotel as long as it is in the vicinity of PLAZA DE LAS ARMAS otherwise it will be at the door of our office (Flower Portal) between: 2:30 and 3:20 a.m. Approx. Arriving in Chivay around 6:30 Approx. Where we will have our breakfast, (Continental) then we will head towards the Cruz del Cóndor, and on the way we will pass through the Town of Yanque, where the pre-Inca and Inca terraces will be appreciated. We will arrive at Cruz del Cóndor, where we will have an approximate stay of 45 min. At an hour Approx. to be able to appreciate in its greatest dimension the depth of the canyon, to observe the planning of the Condor, to listen to the explanation of the guide, to take the respective photos, and so on. On the way back we will make brief stops to observe the ANTAHUILQUE viewpoint and the Choquetico viewpoint where we will appreciate the hanging tombs and the smooth scale, pre-Inca agricultural terraces. Then we will visit the town of Maca in the latter we will make a stop, where we can see its colonial churches, its craft center, typical clothing, among others. Arrival to YANQUE for the visit to the Thermal Baths, and where we will stay for a period of one hour. Approx. These baths are of waters that pass the 40 degrees C; good for bodily diseases. Then we will go to the town of Chivay to have lunch. Finish our lunch up to the mobility for Chivay towards Arequipa making short stops to visit and get to know other tourist places such as:
The Volcanic Mountain Range in particular: Al Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya and Ampato (PATCAMPA) (4910 m.s.n.). Continuing with the tour We will pass by Tojrapampa Appreciating the tocaras, lagunillas and bofedales and the time we will observe some of the migrations like the flamingos and the South American camelids llamas and alpacas, among others. Pampa de Arrieros and Pampa Cañahuas, observing the bofedales and the incompatible vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and migratory birds in their natural habitat. CAÑÓN DE COLCA 2 D 1 N

The Colca Canyon is a huge valley with fine natural landscapes, countless terraces dating from pre-Columbian times, and a river located at a depth of 3140 meters. A trip by bus to the Colca Canyon will take you through beautiful high Andean landscapes, crossing an open area of 4800 meters, from where you can see beautiful views of the valley of the volcanoes. Along the way visitors can enjoy beautiful natural scenery, as well as the fauna in the area, such as flocks of Vicuñas (a camelid cousin of llamas and alpacas that lives in the wild), various types of birds, which highlight the giant hummingbirds, eagles, geese and the majestic Andean Condor.
Itinerary
Day 1: Tourist bus to the Colca Canyon - Overnight in the Colca Valley
Our clients are picked up from their hotels at 07:30 h, by a representative of our agency. The excursion to the Colca Canyon is done on a bus, which is shared with other tourists. We begin the tour by driving our vehicle to the northeast of Arequipa, crossing interesting scenarios, until we reach the Reserva de Pampas Cañahuas. In this place, located at approximately 3,000 meters above sea level, you can see groups of Vicuñas and Alpacas. Here our guide will make a stop and explain about the importance of these beautiful camelids within the Andean community. Later we will arrive at a point known as Viscachani, where we will stop for a few minutes to stretch our legs and drink a coca or coffee mate in a small restaurant. Then we will continue ascending, until we reach the Mirador de los Andes, a spectacular point on the route, located at 4850 meters above sea level. Here we will make a stop and enjoy the beautiful landscape that this natural viewpoint offers. Then we will descend to the picturesque town of Chivay, where we will have lunch with the group in a typical restaurant in the area. Finally our clients are taken to the Pozo de Cielo hostel which is located on the left bank of the Colca river. In the afternoon we will visit the popular thermal baths of La Calera, a paradisiacal place, surrounded by mountains and thermal waters that flow from the interior of the hills at a temperature of 80º C, which are combined with cold water in a pool until reaching the 35º C, ideal temperature for a relaxing bath. Do not forget to bring your bathroom linen, towels will be provided by the hostel. In the evening we will return to the lodge for dinner. Dinner is included in your package. Overnight at Albergue Pozo del Cielo.

Day 2: visit in the morning to the Cruz del Cóndor - Return to the City of Arequipa in the afternoon
06:00 h. After breakfast our clients are picked up from the hostel and then head out to the natural viewpoint known as La Cruz del Cóndor, passing through impressive landscapes along the canyon shore. During the trip we will stop at key points, in which spectacular views of the Colca River are appreciated. We can see hanging tombs dating from the pre-Columbian era, agricultural terraces over a thousand years old, among others. Through our local guide we will learn many aspects about the different indigenous groups that inhabited and still inhabit the enormous Colca Valley. After 2 hours we will arrive at the famous Cruz del Cóndor, here we will have more than an hour to admire the natural beauty that the canyon offers and also to observe the majestic flight of the Condor. They will also be able to make small walks around. Later we will start our return trip to Chivay, visiting some typical villages on the route. In the town of Chivay we will make a last stop to have lunch. Finally we will return to the beautiful city of Arequipa. Our bus will be arriving in the city at approximately 5:00 p.m.

It must be taken into account that we are traveling at considerable altitudes (2300 m at 4800 m at the highest point, 3600 m in the valley where we spend the night). If you take this tour at other times of the year you can wear light clothes in the morning, but in the evenings it is always advisable to take a coat. It is also suggested to bring a rain poncho in case you visit the Colca during the summer. (December to March).

COLCA CAÑÓN 3 D 2 N

Recognized as one of the largest natural canyons on our planet, the Valley of the Colca Canyon offers some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the mountain range of the Andes, as well as a great opportunity for adventure sports, such as hiking to inside the Canyon and mountaineering in the gigantic volcanoes and snow-capped mountains that surround Arequipa. Deep in the canyon there are green oases adorned with tropical palm trees and relaxing thermal baths where all walkers are welcome. The Colca Valley is a small paradise, where a generous river, created millions of years ago, still flows through the agricultural fields of the native people of the area.
Itinerary
Day 1: Arequipa - Cabanaconde - Llahuar 

This excursion has as its starting point the city of Arequipa. We will start our excursion to the Colca Valley at 03:00 h. Our clients are picked up from their respective hotels by a representative of Mystery Peru, and then they are taken to the tourist bus station to travel to the town of Cabanaconde, a town located on the banks of the Colca Canyon. During the trip by bus, we can appreciate beautiful high Andean landscapes, including the Aguada Blanca reserve where it is possible to observe herds of Vicuñas and Alpacas. Later we will pass an Abra of 4800 meters high, and then descend to the banks of the Colca Canyon passing through the community of Chivay. From this point our trip continues through the left margin of the Canyon, which means that participants will appreciate a beautiful landscape along the route to reach the town of Cabanaconde. We will arrive at the town of Cabanaconde around 1:00 pm, just in time for lunch time. Later we will begin to descend to the depth of the Colca, using a winding path that will take us to the bottom of the canyon, until we reach a small community called Llahuar. We will be arriving at the community of Llahuar at approximately 5:00 p.m. In this place we will have free time to explore the area and then we will have dinner with our group in the light of the stars. We will spend the night in this community.

Day 2: Llahuar - Paclla – Sangalle

After breakfast, we will continue our walk through the Colca Canyon, until we reach the community of Paclla, and a peculiar natural viewpoint of Apachetas (heaps of stones placed vertically, used by the people of the Andes as a signal to mark the way). Continuing with our excursion we will walk for about 4 hours until we reach the town of Sangalle, where we will rest and ingest our food. In the afternoon we will take a well-deserved swim in the natural pools of the Colca, in a beautiful place called the Oasis. Overnight in this place.

Day 3: Sangalle - Cruz del Cóndor - Chivay - Arequipa

This day it is necessary to get up very early, since the path to follow is very steep, and it is better to do it very early (04:00 h) to avoid the sun's rays and heat. This uphill walk will take us about 3 hours, and will lead us to the famous natural viewpoint known as Cruz del Cóndor, where we can appreciate the wonderful flight of the Condor, a spectacular carrion bird that lives in the cliffs of the Colca Canyon. Later we will take a public bus to the town of Chivay, where we will have lunch, and then we will visit the thermal baths of La Calera, where we can relax for about an hour in waters of 30º Celsius, enjoying an outdoor swimming pool. a unique landscape, that only the Colca Canyon can offer. In the afternoon we will take a local bus back to Arequipa, we will be arriving in Arequipa around 18:00 hrs. End of the excursion.

VALLE DE LOS VOLCANES

Itinerary
Day 1

08:00 Pick up at the hotel and departure from Arequipa (2325 a.m.). We drive along the asphalt road towards Yura, crossing Pampa de Arrieros and Pampa Cañahuas, observing the incompatible vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and migratory birds, and then reaching Viscachani where we enjoy a Coca mate, to acclimatize the body, the height. Continuing with the tour appreciating the tocjras, lagunillas and bofedales and at the same time observe some migratory birds such as the Flamingos, ibis. Then we arrive at the highest point of Patapampa (4830 masl), also called the viewpoint of the Volcanoes, since from there you can see the Volcanic chain in particular: the Hualcahualca, Sabancalla and Ampato, and then descend to the town of Chivay. (3600 masl) Lunch. and Accommodation at the Hotel. 

In the afternoon Optional visit to the Thermal Baths of La Calera, where we will stay for a period of approximately two hours. These Baths are of thermo medicinal waters, which exceed 40 degrees C; good for bodily diseases. 
In the evening, we will enjoy a dinner accompanied by a Folkloric rock. 
Note: * The visit to La Calera is only for those passengers who have their hotel located in Chivay. * The folkloric dinner is also for those passengers who have their hotel located in Chivay, otherwise the hotels located in Yanque have a restaurant.

Day 2

In the morning (05.30) breakfast at the hotel. then leave for the Cruz del Condor where we will stay for a lapse of 2 hours approx. Place where you can appreciate the depth of the Colca Canyon and the flight of the Condor at a short distance.
In return we will observe archaeological remains, pre Inca agricultural terraces and other panoramic views of the Colca Canyon. We will pass through the villages of Pinchollo, Maca, Achoma, Yanque in the latter we will make a stop, where we can see its typical churches, its craft center, the typical clothing of its inhabitants, among others.
